Joe K. Walsh and John Mailander, “Tennessee Waltz” | Northfield Mandolins

Peghead Nation instructor Joe K. Walsh plays Northfield's new electric octave mandolin in a duet with fiddler John Mailander.

Northfield recently introduced four completely new instruments, the EleOcto (electric octave mandolin), The Wavelength (short scale octave mandolin), the Quickstep (mandola), and the Rival (acoustic archtop guitar). Peghead Nation instructor Joe K. Walsh recently stopped by the Northfield shop in Michigan, and while there, he used the EleOcto to recorded a duet of the “Tennessee Waltz” with John Mailander on fiddle.

The EleOcto is a completely new solid-body instrument built with spruce and maple. It has a Seymour Duncan magnetic pick as well as a Northfield-made piezo pickup that can be blended for a variety of tonal options. In this video, Joe plays the EleOcto through a Fender amp.
