Laurie Lewis and Brittany Haas: “The Bear Song”

Twin fiddles on one of the renowned bluegrass songwriter’s most popular songs.
May 10, 2016

In her segment as guest on Brittany Haas’s Fiddle Styles Workshop, bluegrass singer/songwriter/fiddler/guitarist Laurie Lewis talked about how she incorporates her fiddle playing into her songs. In this video, she and Brittany play one of her earliest and most popular fiddle-oriented songs, “The Bear Song,” which Laurie recorded on her first recording with the Grant Street String Band. Her latest record is a tribute to Hazel and Alice and includes guest vocalists Linda Ronstadt, Alice Gerrard, and Aoife O’Donovan as well as fiddlers Tatiana Hargreaves and Peghead Nation’s Chad Manning. laurielewis.com
