Advancing Mandolinist instructor Joe K. Walsh was in the Peghead Nation studio recording lessons for his course awhile ago, and he played the great 1930s song “Lulu’s Back in Town” with his Mr. Sun bandmate and duo partner Grant Gordy on guitar.
The song was written by Harry Warren and Al Dublin, popularized by Fats Waller in a 1935 recording, and has since been recorded by Mel Tormé, Thelonious Monk, and many others. It was even performed by the Muppets during the premiere season of Sesame Street in 1969.
