“Bryant’s Bounce” was written by the great western swing guitarist Jimmy Bryant and was recorded by Bryant and steel guitarist Speedy West in 1953. It’s in the key of Db and is an arpeggio workout on the complicated chord progression Db–C7–F7–Bb7–Eb7–Ab7–Db. The bridge, fortunately, is based on the “rhythm changes” chord progression to the bridge of “I Got Rhythm,” which is F7–Bb7–Eb7–Ab7 in this key, with each chord lasting two measures. In this video, Matt walks you through the chord progression and the intro.
