Boot Heel Drag, Part 3: Triple Guitar/Mandolin Solo and “Drag”

Matt shows you all three harmony lines of the triple solo as played by Eldon Shamblin, Johnny Gimble, and Tiny Moore, and takes you through the “drag” part that Remington played on the steel. As Matt explains, adapting steel-guitar lines to the standard six-string involves some compromises between what’s possible with a steel slide and just four fingers on frets. He also notes that in addition to his pick, he’s using some of his other right-hand fingers to emulate steel-guitar technique.
