Key of G Backup, Part 2: Harmonized Scale in G Play-Along Track

Key of G Backup, Part 1

John takes you on a journey similar to what you just explored in the previous set of lessons. Once again he’ll be demonstrating playing in reel (4/4) time, but this time in the key of G. You’ll learn the basic I, IV, and V chords, build a harmonized scale with the rest of the chords for G, and then apply it all to developing basic and embellished accompaniment patterns for “Mooney’s Reel.” In this video, John reviews his approach to pick technique and rhythm fundamentals and then shows you the fingering for the basic chords in the key of G and then shows you how to build additional chords by harmonizing the scale: G A B C D E F# G.
