H12 Limited | Froggy Bottom Guitars
Tony McManus plays a gorgeous 12-fret at the North American Guitar.
Having built his first guitar in 1970, Froggy Bottom founder Michael Millard is an icon in the evolution of contemporary American guitar making. Now in its sixth decade, Froggy Bottoms are among the most sought-after steel-strings on the scene, with the company’s Vermont workshop producing limited numbers of finely-crafted guitars. In this video, Peghead Nation Celtic Guitar instructor Tony McManus plays a gorgeous Froggy Bottom H12 (the company’s most popular model) built with figured koa back and sides at London’s The North American Guitar shop (the shop has since merged with Nashville’s Carter Vintage Guitars). Tony’s arrangement of Emer Mayock’s jig “Kalyana” demonstrates the H12’s versatility by including both strummed and fingerstyle passages.
