Building and repairing guitars requires many tools that may be unfamiliar, even to folks who do other kinds of woodworking. One setup that is found in most shops is a go-bar deck, which is most-often used during gluing operations on a guitar’s top or back. In this video, Elderly Instrument’s Joe Konkoly demonstrates how he uses a go-bar deck while replacing the X-bracing on a vintage Martin D-28.
