Country songwriter, guitarist, and singer Sturgill Simpson just won Emerging Act of the Year in the 2014 Americana Music Association Awards. Here, LR Baggs presents an interview with Simpson and Dave Cobb, producer and engineer on Metamodern Sounds in Country Music (and producer on the Americana Album of the Year, Jason Isbell’s Southeastern). Simpson and Cobb talk about using the LR Baggs Lyric microphone, Simpson’s Martin D-28, and recording acoustic guitar in a live setting.
