We are excited to announce a brand new course for all musicians, with a great new instructor joining Peghead Nation! In Learning by Ear with Lissa Schneckenburgeryou’ll learn to pick up tunes on the fly and increase your ability to interact with your fellow musicians. Lissa has great advice on mastering this essential musical skill, and has created fun examples to help you hone your ear training. You’ll work through pitch-recognition exercises, call-and-response rhythm exercises, and much more, and Lissa gives you a daily practice routine so you can refine your skills in between lessons. You’ll also learn three complete Celtic tunes by ear.

Raised in a small town in Maine, Lissa Schneckenburger began playing fiddle at an early age, inspired by her parent’s interest in folk music. In 2001 she graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music with a degree in Contemporary Improvisation. She has been composing, recording (including six solo albums), performing, and teaching music around the world ever since. Her class on the basic fundamentals of how to learn by ear has been in demand at festivals, music camps, and workshops for the last 20 years, and we’re happy she is bringing this helpful course to Peghead Nation!

Take a look at Lissa’s course introduction video above, and sign up for Learning by Ear today!
