Never Come Down: “Gimmie Time”
The Portland, Oregon-based band plays an original song in the Peghead Nation studio.
Never Come Down, the Portland, Oregon-based band that includes Crystal Lariza (vocals and guitar), Joe Suskind (guitar), Kaden Hurst (mandolin), Lillian Sawyer (fiddle), and Matt Holmes (bass), stopped by the Peghead Nation studio when they were in town to play The Freight in Berkeley, California, recently. After we recorded a fun vocal harmony workshop with Crystal, Kaden, and Joe (stay tuned for that!), the whole band treated us to a few songs, including this performance of their song “Gimmie Time,” which they released on their album Greener Pastures. The song was written by former Never Come Down banjo player Brian Alley, and the band continues to play it live, with Crystal taking the lead vocal. This is a great band that combines musical virtuosity, thoughtful songwriting, and playful live performances into a unique and powerful mix. Catch them when they come to your town!
