Evie Ladin‘s love of Appalachian music, dance, and songwriting all come together in the Evie Ladin Band‘s third album, Jump the Fire, due on May 6. She stopped by the Peghead Nation studio recently with her bandmates Keith Terry and Erik Pearson to play a few songs from the album, including “Ease On Down,” which she calls an “Appalachian/Broadway mash-up.”

You can catch Evie and the band on a West Coast album release tour in May with a special hometown album release party at the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley, CA on May 19, with the great acoustic trio The Stray Birds. They’ll also embark on an East Coast album release tour in June with The Stray Birds.
