Mark Goldenberg: “Winter Song”
Peghead Nation Guitar Theory instructor plays an original fingerstyle piece.
January 27, 2016
Peghead Nation’s Guitar Theory instructor Mark Goldenberg is a first-rate sideman whose playing can be found on hundreds of albums, including works by Jackson Browne, Peter Frampton, Roy Orbison, Bonnie Raitt, Brian Wilson, and many others. Mark was a member of Jackson Browne’s touring band from 1994 to 2010, and he most recently toured the world with Hugh Laurie (check out Peghead Nation’s video of Mark’s stage rig for that tour). Mark is also a fine acoustic fingerstyle guitarist, and in this video, he plays an original tune, “Winter Song,” on his Collings OMH2.

The song “You’ll Work Down to Me Someday” was recorded by Memphis bluesman John Henry Barbee in the late 1920s. Peghead Nation instructor Orville Johnson teaches you how to play the fingerstyle guitar part (including two different solos) in his Blues Guitar course, but in this video Orville just lets loose and sings the song in his own inimitable style. To learn more blues guitar techniques, including fingerstyle, lead guitar, and slide soloing, enroll in Orville’s Blues Guitar course on Peghead Nation today.
