Ethan concludes this month’s exploration of the key of C by showing you a basic version of “Boston Boy,” a staple of bluegrass and old-time repertories. As you’ll note, the A part of the melody is basically a series of scale fragments based on the I, IV, and V chords. Ethan plays the tune through slowly so that you can catch the melody, which should be pretty easy after the exercises you’ve been working on earlier this month.
