Django Reinhardt recorded his “Swing 42” with the Quintet of the Hot Club of France in 1941, and the tune remains an enduring jam favorite among Manouche (Gypsy jazz), swing, and even bluegrass string players. In this lesson, Aaron shows you the chord progression and a melody-based solo for the evergreen classic. It’s in the key of C and has an AABA form, with a chord progression for the first part commonly called “rhythm changes,” because it has the same progression “I Got Rhythm,” which Aaron taught in an earlier lesson in this course. The bridge modulates to the key of E and has a similar progression. In this video, you’ll learn the chords.
