Written by Shelton Brooks in 1910, “Some of These Days” was first recorded by Sophie Tucker the following year. She had a million-seller hit with the song when she recorded it again in the mid-1920s with Ted Lewis and His Band. Since then, at least 500 other acts have recorded the piece as a song or an instrumental, including Django Reinhardt and the Quintet of the Hot Club of France with Stéphane Grappelly in 1935. It’s a great vehicle for jamming, and Aaron teaches both the basic chord progression and a single-string solo. Although the song is in the key of D minor, the first chord is an A major. The structure is just two parts: a 16-bar A part followed by a 16-bar B section. In this video, Aaron shows you the chord progression.
