Bandleader and saxophonist Isham Jones penned “I’ll See You in My Dreams” in 1924, with Gus Kahn adding lyrics. It quickly became a jazz and pop standard recorded by scores of diverse artists including Louis Armstrong, Merle Travis, Ella Fitzgerald, Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, and Django Reinhardt. Rather than an AABA format it has two 16-bar halves, with a little harmonic twist in the second half. Aaron teaches the song in the key of F, which is the most common choice for both string and horn players. In this video, Aaron shows you the basic chord progression for “I’ll See You in My Dreams.”
