Once you know the arpeggios based on the L shape, you can easily find double stops to harmonize the melodies of the songs you’re playing. Sharon shows you two handy double stops in the L shape for D, G, and A, and gives you a couple exercises using them.

| Tuning the Mandolin |
The mandolin can be a tricky instrument to tune and even more difficult to get to stay in tune. In this lesson, Sharon shows you how to get in tune with an electronic tuner. For example, she suggests tuning the first of each pair of strings to the tuner, and the second of each pair to the first. Once you have the first string in tune, lower the second string and bring it slowly up to pitch until the two strings sound like a single, clear pitch.
