For the B parts of her “Forked Deer” solo, Sharon uses a couple of approaches. In the first A part she uses a fiddle technique in which you drone an A note at the seventh fret of the D string using your pinky while you play the melody on the A string. In the second B part, she bases the solo on a phrase from Sam Bush’s “Big Sandy River” solo, which she taught in a previous lesson.
