L.R. Baggs has long offered pickup systems that combined multiple sources, most famously with its acclaimed Dual Source, iMix, and Anthem systems. On the heels of last year’s release of the bridge plate-mounted HiFi system, the company has now released the HiFi Duet, which adds a newly developed internal mic, which L.R. Baggs calls the Silo. In this video, shot at Middle Tree Studio in Nashville, Tennessee, company founder Lloyd Baggs discusses the system with guitarist Bob Minner and recording engineer Joe Pisapia. The video also includes examples of Bob playing a guitar with the HiFi Duet, and comparing it to being recorded with a Neumann U67 microphone.
