Clive Carroll: Composing Workshop

ELIXIR® Strings Artist Series presents Clive Carroll discussing his composition "Eliza's Eyes," and how he approaches writing for solo guitar.
July 29, 2015

Elixir® Strings Artist Series presents guitarist Clive Carroll discussing how he composed his solo guitar tune “Eliza’s Eyes.” He talks about creating different parts for the piece and demonstrates how CGCGCD tuning lets him play bass lines and melodic riffs simultaneously.

Carroll studied guitar and composition at London’s Trinity College, and shortly after graduating embarked on a solo steel-string guitar career, recording several critically acclaimed albums and touring with the likes of John Renbourn and Tommy Emmanuel. He is currently recording a new album in Essex, England.
