Get to the Seagrass Strings Festival, Sunday, June 27
Join a new festival featuring Peghead Nation instructors Joe K. Walsh and Bruce Molsky, and a full day’s lineup of great musicians.
On Sunday, June 27, Joe K. Walsh is hosting a one-day bluegrass festival in Portland, Maine, the Seagrass Strings Festival. He’s put together a great lineup including Mr Sun (featuring Joe on mandolin, fiddler Darol Anger, guitarist Grant Gordy, and bass player Aidan O’Donnell), Joe’s fellow Peghead Nation and Berklee instructor Bruce Molsky, the stringband Twisted Pine, and songwriter Celia Woodsmith with mandolin player Maddie Witler (both of Della Mae). The festival is being held at Maine Craft Distilling, which Joe describes as “just behind the oyster joint and next door to the cheese joint, right by the fermentation joint, over there by the fancy knife store.” Great music in a cool setting. Check it out and get there if you can!
