Bourgeois Guitars has been expanding the model choices in every segment of its offerings. The company has always been a respected maker of high-end, boutique-level flattops, and it recently made waves by collaborating with Eastman Guitars on the more affordable Downeast and Touchstone series instruments. Earlier this year, Bourgeois introduced the Professional series, which represents a new line made completely in the company’s Lewiston, Maine, shop. With satin finishes (gloss is an option) and simplified appointments, these models still have the same excellent materials and craftsmanship as other Bourgeois guitars. We checked out a limited-edition version of the D Vintage Professional Series built with Madagascar rosewood back and sides (standard models use Indian rosewood). In this video, Bay Area flatpicking wiz Jim Nunally and Peghead Nation’s Teja Gerken demo the guitar in the Peghead Nation studio.
